Safaba Translation Solutions
Automated Solutions for Commercial Translation Service Providers

Commercial demand for high-quality translation services has increased dramatically over the past decade and has spurred the rapid growth of the translation service provider (TSP) business sector to an estimated $16 billion in 2008. This expansion is being driven by companies doing business multi-nationally that require professional-quality translations of an increasing volume of documents and web pages to support their business operations.

TSPs have traditionally relied upon professional human translators to transform documents directly from the source or to post-edit previously-translated materials, resulting in an expensive and labor-intensive process. With the objective of reducing costs and turnaround time, TSPs have begun to evaluate the impact of machine translation (i.e., computer-based automatic language translation) solutions on their established procedures.

Safaba Translation Solutions is developing creative solutions that integrate machine translation (MT) technology into the workflow processes used by TSPs. Safaba's approach focuses on identifying high-quality MT-produced translations, improving MT translations that are close to being high-quality, and integrating these translations seamlessly into the human translation loop. The resulting TSP workflow augmented with MT technology is a collaborative human-machine process that dramatically reduces the amount of effort required of professional human translators which concomitantly decreases the overall expense and duration of translation projects.
